St Mary's Church, Purley-on-Thames

Purley on Thames is located just to the west of Reading along the A329 Oxford Road. St Mary’s church can be found in the lower part of the village: take New Hill, down and over the railway bridge. Follow the bend to the right into St Mary’s Avenue and follow the road to the end where you will find the church, next to Purley Marina. Parking space available.

The closest station to St Mary’s is Tilehurst. The church is approximately 25 minutes walk from the station.

Reading Buses number 16 service terminates in Purley. There is a stop just as the bus turns into Colyton Way. Rejoin St Mary’s Avenue for the short walk to the church.

Thames Travel run a services from Reading to Whitchurch-on-Thames (143) which stops at the top of New Hill. However, currently this route does not operate a Sunday timetable.
